Various research works are being carried out to determine the baseline, data and to evaluate the health services. Currently three studies are going on e.g. Maternal Mental Illness in Nepalese Women, Prevalence of Mental Health Problems among School Children and Retrospective Study of Sexual Abuses in college students. It has completed research in community prevalence of Epilepsy in Morang District and study of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) in Nepal. Besides these MHP has been organising national seminars on various aspects of mental health.

A. Research studies on the process:

1. Prevalence study of emotional and behavioural problems among school children of the Kathmandu Valley.

2. Retrospective recall of events of childhood abuses; physical and sexual.
